  • Mercy Integrated Physical Therapists are highly-trained professionals who are committed to helping you get back to your life. Our physical therapists are uniquely qualified to evaluate and treat movement system dysfunction. We take a total body assessment and treatment approach to maximize return to functional activity, including all forms of work and play.

    • Randy Junttonen, PT : A graduate from the University of Michigan in 1980, Randy has worked with the U.S. Nordic Ski Team, Chicago City Ballet, and the Hubbard Street Dance Company. Randy focuses on spine, sports, orthopedic and ergonomics. Randy has advanced training and experience with manual therapy and functional exercise.
    • Phil Rambo, MPT : Phil is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he worked with the Hawkeye wresting and basketball teams. He is certified in spinal manipulation and focuses his practice on sports orthopedic and spine care. Phil also participates with the Fort Lewis Athletic Training program.
    • Douglas Houle, MSPT : Doug is an honors college graduate and Phi Beta Kappa member of Arizona State University, where he worked with the Sun Devil baseball team and the Phoenix Coyote hockey team. Doug completed research at Regis University on the throwing motion in conjunction with the Steadman-Hawkins Institute. He is a certified spinal and peripheral manipulation therapist with an emphasis on spine and orthopedic rehabilitation. Doug moved to Durango in 2000 and enjoys being a part of the Durango community. Doug and his wife, Spring, have four kids, Kyle, Ella, Hunter and Boden. They enjoy skiing, fishing, hockey, golf, and swimming.
    • Charles J. Alexander, DPT : Jay Alexander returns to Mercy Integrated Physical Therapy with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of New Mexico. Jay completed his undergraduate work at Fort Lewis College with an emphasis in athletic training. Jay gained years of clinical experience as a physical therapy advanced exercise specialist with Mercy Integrated Physical Therapy, as well as completed his clinical mentorship. Jay's expertise in exercise application and orthopedics enhances our ability to further serve the community. Jay is a former competitive dancer and enjoys a variety of recreational outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing and mountain biking. He is accepting new patients and is currently working at the Three Springs location.
    • Amy Tichy Smith, MPT : Amy graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 1991. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology and a minor in chemistry from Fort Lewis College. Amy received a Spinal Manipulation Certificate in 2004. She has practiced physical therapy in a private practice and outpatient environment since 1992. Since joining the team of therapists at Mercy Integrated Physical Therapy in 2004, she has embraced the functional approach to evaluating and treating patients. Our group thrives on communication and the expertise of our therapists to further our knowledge base and provide the best quality of care for our clients. Amy enjoys traveling around the world with the Semester at Sea curriculum and has visited many countries including Spain, Greece, Turkey, India, Sir Lanka, and China. Currently, she enjoys camping with her husband and two boys, as well as hiking, biking and skiing in the Four Corners area. 
    • Tiffany Purcell, MPTTiffany received her undergraduate degree in nutrition with an emphasis in pre-med from the University of Texas. She completed her master's degree in physical therapy at Western Carolina University. She has experience in myofascial and trigger point release, women's health, aquatic therapy, and both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy. Outside of work, she enjoys running, cross country skiing, and road and mountain biking. She is currently working at the Three Springs location.
    • Lindsey Mitchell, DPT : Lindsey Mitchell completed her undergraduate work at Oklahoma State University and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and has experience in outpatient orthopedic, neurological rehabilitation and pediatric physical therapy. Lindsey enjoys camping, hiking, skiing and mountain biking with her husband and dog.
