What to Bring for Your Hospital Stay
• List of medications you are currently taking, including name, dosage, and times of day you are taking them
• List of allergies
• Personal hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
• Robe and slippers with a heel or your favorite walking shoes
• Loose-fitting pants or shorts
• Walker or crutches if you are having orthopedic surgery
• Telephone number of a contact person
• Books, magazines, crossword puzzles, tapes, hobby items to occupy your time for brief periods
• CPAP mask if you have sleep apnea
What Not to Bring for Your Hospital Stay
• Electrical appliances such as hair dryers or razors
• Valuables, including credit cards, significant amounts of money, or jewelry
• Babies or small children should not be brought to the hospital
• Medications from home
